Recipe for root vegetables in slow cooker

Wash and cut up your favorite root vegetables, such as parsnips, sweet potatoes, beets, and or yams. You could add winter squash or tomatoes, and sliced onions, and garlic, too.
Place in slow cooker with a splash of olive, walnut, coconut oil or ghee.
Add one cup of water or chicken broth. Turn slow cooker on for a few hours. Overcooking will not harm the veggies.
Season to your taste with any of the following: fresh or dried basil, tarragon, rosemary, sesame oil, lemon juice, cumin, ginger, or go for a sweet style seasoning with cinnamon, mint, cardamom or allspice.
Recipe for Scallops
Scallops are delicious, mild flavored seafood and have no waste whatsoever. Best if you can find them with no added chemicals.
Rinse fresh or defrosted scallops under running water.
Pan fry with a speck of ghee or olive oil. Turn over when half done. They cook quickly, so be careful not to overcook. If you overcook them, they will taste rubbery. They should just flake with a fork, melt in your mouth tender, and retain a moist look.
If you have found scallops with no chemical additives, cooking them will not leave a watery residue in your pan.
Season with freshly squeezed lemon juice, dust with dill if you are so inclined, and eat immediately
